Patchwork Denim

Following the denim theme, again I used my scraps to make this cushion cover (I cut the squares with my Big Shot machine which saved a lot of time :o)  I'm really in to making cushion covers at the moment & have bought some gorgeous "London" fabric on ebay which I'm making some more from & will post when I've finished them.

I Do Love Denim :o)

I keep all my & my family's old jeans (I hate throwing any material away lol) & decided to use them to make cushion covers :o)  I made the small one first & then wanted to make more.  I broke a sewing machine needle in the process but luckily I had plenty of spares.

I'd like to link to:

I think I'm going to make more of these if I can get my hands on some more jeans & I want to try my hand at making jeans bags too :o)

Denim Owl Brooch

I hate throwing anything away & love using old clothes to make something new.  I made this owl brooch using some old jeans & some material from an old shirt.  I've made quite a few in different coloured denims with different material for the wings.  I have another denim brooch I made which is my fav & is on my coat but I will photo it (when I remember) to post on here :o)

Mini Hats

When I was knitting my pink hat I was talking to my grandchildren on Skype & Abigail my eldest granddaughter who is 7 asked if she could have one so I knitted her a purple one but obviously I couldn't leave her little sister Bethany out (who is 3) so I knitted her a pink one .  For my grandson Ryan who is 9 I made a Minecraft coaster (we bought him a Minecraft hat for Christmas so he didn't need another one :o)

Flower added...

As I said in the post below I thought the pink hat would look nice with the addition of a crocheted flower so this is what I did, I made a flower & added a button & sewed it to my hat.  I like it even more now (& it keeps my head warm while I'm biking!).

Bit of Knitting

It has been really cold here but I didn't realise how cold & windy it was the other day when out with hubby so didn't have my hat so I hat to buy one from Asda for £5, later I looked at it & thought I could probably knit one for myself...so I did.  I'm not the most proficient knitter but I do enjoy it especially with chunky wool & big wooden needles & I made a couple of hats one pink & one blue (they took an evening each).  The pattern is HERE if you're interested :o)

I also learned to crochet fairly recently & think I might crochet a big flower to go on the pink one (this is the one I wear when I bike to work) :o)

I'm linking this up at 2 Creative Chicks Anything Goes challenge & also Craftaholics Anonymous Friday Friends Link Party & Made by you Monday over at Skip To My Lou.  Thanks to Alexanda's comment I've now linked to her Yarn Fanatic Linky Party too :o)

2015...

I'm hoping to get to do some more sewing (& knitting & crocheting) this year & hopefully will update this blog as much as I do my papercrafting one :o)  That's the plan anyway but we all know life has a habit of getting in the way.
